At Waterlift Solar Limted, we provide hydro-geological surveys which aim to investigate the water quantity and quality potential at the subsurface level in a particular location, prior to drilling a borehole.

The process involves assessment of the thickness and constitution of water bearing rocks, and to identify groundwater. This helps determine the capacity that the rocks can either store or resist water. Additionally, the process aids determine the quality, type, and pressure of the groundwater as it’s considered better source of drinking water compared to surface water.

To ensure quality operations, our team of experts conducts inspections in various dynamics that prompt a better understanding of the location, and the nature of the borehole. The process involves:

  • Determination Water consistency and Water flow
  • Hydrodynamics
  • Drilling of Trial Pits
  • Geophysical studies and field tests

Hydrogeological survey FAQs

What is a hydrogeological survey?
A hydrogeological survey is a professional assessment used to determine the most suitable location to drill, the likely depth, groundwater potential, and expected challenges.

Why is a hydrogeological survey important?
It reduces the risk of drilling in the wrong location and helps improve the chances of getting a productive borehole.

What happens during a hydrogeological survey?
The process may include site inspection, geological assessment, geophysical investigation, review of nearby water points, and preparation of a siting report.

Can a survey estimate the expected borehole depth?
Yes. A good survey provides an informed estimate of the expected drilling depth and possible aquifer zones.

Can a hydrogeological survey guarantee water?
No honest consultant should guarantee water absolutely. The survey improves the probability of success but underground conditions can vary.

How long does a hydrogeological survey take?
In many cases it can be completed within a short period, depending on site accessibility and report preparation time.

Do I need a survey report for permitting?
In many cases, yes. A hydrogeological report is often required as part of the permitting and regulatory process.
